In season 1 we are introduced to 3 main stories but these three stories are slightly connected. We will start with….
Story 1: Red Riding Hood
Young Kayla (17 years old) is forced to move to NYC by her dad after her mom died. The first day of school she meets two kids at her new school, Ethan and Lacey. Lacey takes her to a 21+ club that night, they got drunk and took Molly. While at the club, Kayla meets (and sleeps with) and guy named Nick. The next day she goes to school and finds out that he is her new substitute teacher. Oh-Oh! Classic teenage cliche, problem girl sleeps with older guy and he ends up being her teacher but they really connected so they keep up this sorted affair until people start finding out and something bad happens. (Almost makes me what to watch Pretty Little Liars again lol) Anyway Lacey finds out and keeps her secret from everyone except her off again – on again hookup = Ethan who has become obsessed with Kayla but still sleeps/flirts with Lacey. Lacey actually likes Ethan but doesn’t want to show it. Ethan tries to hookup with Kayla and even gets into a public (at school) fight with the girls because Kayla won’t do anything with him and threats to out the affair with the teacher. Ethan then pretends to just friends with Kayla but tries to force himself on Kayla (Psyco!!!) and then sends teacher Nick a photo of Nick and Kayla kissing in the hopes to blackmail him. However after multiple attempts to pay the little creep off, Nick sneaks into Ethan’s house and tortures and kills the pervert in a very professonal, “this is my first time”, way. He then covers his tracks by keeping Ethan’s phone and finger, thats right I said finger (fingerprint lock on phone) and pretends to be Ethan for awhile text Lacey that he is fine so she doesn’t worry and call the cops. Then he heads home but almost gets caught by Kayla (he was still covered in blood) and then pops the “I love you lets run away card”. This scares Kayla and she tells him that she thinks they need a break. Nick doesn’t like this so he kind of stalks the dad at his restaurant/job and has a drink with him pretending it was an accident. Kayla finds out and breaks up with him for good which makes Nick crazy. Kayla tells Lacey about the break up and they start Googling him because Kayla never found out about his past. They find out the Nick isn’t his name. He used his brother’s name and fudged some of his background for unknown reasons. Kayla doesn’t like that he was hiding this stuff so she convinces Lacey to watch “Nick” while she sneaks into his apartment. Nick catches Lacey watching him. But will he catch Kayla in his apartment, searching through his papers? Hold up!!! Kayla found papers with Nick’s true identity and a painting her mom did? What is going on?? Thankfully she got away without him catching her. Kayla is now watching old home videos while the audience is getting flashbacks of the possible last day her mom was alive. First she finished the painting, Kayla asked to go over to a friends despite it being family night and then Dad surprised mom and Kayla with him making dinner for family night and forced Kayla to stay home. Dad tried to kiss mom but she pulled away..Interesting… Stalker boyfriend calling!!! SHe asks about the painting..and Boom! Nick loved her mother! Flashback: “Nick” stalking family the same night as before. They argued, Mom broke up with him. They planned to meet up later that night. He steals the painting. Kayla heads to dad’s work to talk to him and Nick shows up right behind her. Kayla asked her dad if mom was having an affair. Damn, Kayla blamed her dad of having an affair and that is why they were fighting and distant all the time when really the mom was having an affair with a student, Josh/Nick. Kayla needs to tell her dad or Grandma about this guy! The last person to see Kayla’s mom alive was Josh/Nick. In fact he caused her accident that killed her!! Wait..she is still alive after wrapping her car around a light post. He suffocated her! That creep! Oh now he is breaking into her house and watching her sleep. How original. SO Kayla takes a mental health day which leads to Nick stalk-texting her. When he didn’t get an answer, he texted Laney pretending to be Ethan so Laney went to meet up with “Ethan”. Now Nick is holding her hostage in order to get Kayla to meet with him. Well the creep locks her into a room and he has blood on his hands. Is Laney his third victim? SHe gets backed up against a table and grabs a pair of scissors which she uses to stab him with. Oh good, hiding is always the answer when dealing with a PSYCHO!!!! Yup Laney is dead. Kayla just found her body. Yes she knocked him down and grabbed the keys to escape! Ran out the door screaming for help. Thank god she is in New York! Sam from the three pigs storyline is on the case. They found the body of Ethan hidden there too. So Sam is talking to Kayla and now her dad is there too but Nick/Josh is missing…Oh no!!! He showed up Kayla’s grandma’s costume shop! Oh and took grandma’s phone. Grandma might be the next victim! Yup smacked her over the head with a cane and shoved her into a trunk! So Nick/Josh took stuff from Kayla’s grandma’s shop to disguise himself while keeping the grandma locked in the trunk. He actually does look different. He gets a hotel room but doesn’t give a name. Grandma is out of the trunk and wakes up in a hotel room while watching a news story about her abduction but Nick stops her. Cops are trying to find them but they cant do much. Let the villain speech commence. While grandma is tied up, she asks Nick who he is. Nick broke Kayla’s teacher’s hip so he could fill in as her teacher. His second victim? Probably. Well dumb@$$ cops are keeping an eye on the two dead kids social media. Nick sends a message to Kayla but she gets sidelined by her dad apologizing and blaming himself. Nick was able to slip her a untrackable phone and he tells her to go to his room at the hotel alone or grandma would died. She gets to the hotel and passes Katrina who is running to find Sam. She gets to the room and sees Nick/Josh with a knife on her grandma. At least he untied her. Josh/Nick wants to play a game. Truth or Dare. Kayla admits she was high the night she met Nick, Nick admitted to killing Kayla’s mom, and she offered herself up as trade for her grandma. Downstairs Kayla’s dad showed up to check on the kitchen and runs into Katrina, who still hasn’t found Sam. Kayla is forced to retie up her grandma while Nick pours liquor all over the room and sets it on fire. After it starts up He grabs Kayla and tries to leave but her dad (hero!!) breaks down the door and beats the $hit out of Nick which gives Kayla just enough time to untie grandma and for them to make their escape! After getting home and settled in bed, Nick shows up and trys to take Kayla. She fights with him until Nick falls down the stairs.
